Tekmar 371 help

Situation - Weil Mclain GV-5 with 4 hot water zone valves controlled by Tekmar 371.

Problem - Right now it is -5F overnight and the Tekmar control is still sending a boiler signal after the high temp limit on the boiler shuts it off at 210F. I lowered the boiler heating curve from 1.6 to 1, but still the control is sending a boiler signal after the high temp limit shuts off the boiler. One of zones cannot be satisfied. Is the control trying to get a hotter boiler temp. to try to satisfy this zone? Or is there some thing wrong with the controller?

    Your settings?

What are your input settings. HI? LO? Dif? Reset etc. - sounds like an unrealistic high setting input from here. Dan

    heating curve shift

The 371 incoporates an automatic heating curve shift. This means that if the indoor temperature feedback is cooler than expected and not coming up as quickly as it would expect, the heating curve is parallel shifted to supply hotter water. Changing the curve as you did should show a correction, but bear in mind that the control operates in 15 minute cycles and any change may not show up for a few minutes. 1.6 curve would be acceptable for finned tube baseboard. For more details, refer to tekmar D 371 data brochure.

    Stick an ohm meter......

on the outdoor sensor wires. Have seen a few of the sensors go bad. You can look in your tekmar info to find out what ohm reading you should be getting at certain readings. Could also check the boiler supply sensor the same way.

correction on above....should be "outdoor temperatures", not "readings".
