Well said. And the lesson we were supposed to learn from 1941 was that we should never let our guard down.

    Leting your guard down

is different than some sick terrorist trying to intimidate us into submission by dreaming up new methods of destuction. Their methods are only as limited as their imagination. As far as I am concerned we should take a page from the lessons learned in the mid east. These terrorist will not be satisfied untill we are wiped out from the face of this earth. So I say Go G.W.Bush you are fighting the good fight. Our Men and Women of the Armed Forces have my respect and prayers.
  • There was no mention

on the web, our local paper, the TV, the radio or anywhere else, of this day of atrocity.

Do the Jap Titans of industry have such a stranglehold on the purses of business and media in this country that they can make this go away. Make it become non-history.

    Not in this Limey's lifetime.

There was an hour long show on TV tonight about Elvis, but Pearl Harbour....nothing.

This from the movie, Rising Sun: "Business is War". Sure seems to be working.

My uncle George finally died last year. While in a Jap camp, every single major bone (including his scull) in his body was systematically broken.

Sound like a sore subject with me?

Thank you for remembering, Mr. Sweeney.

    Brian Wood.

    Pearl

On my way back home from Vietnam, my ship tied up directly across from the Arizona. I looked at the #3 turret train circle (the part that is still above water) a lot while I stood my watch that night. Those poor guys never had a chance. When that bomb hit the forward magazine that ship exploded with incredible force and burned for 3 days after. If you are ever in Honolulu, be sure you visit the Arizona, and don't forget the USS Utah, across Ford Island. The USS Missouri is moored just down from the Arizona, don't miss that, either. Take the kids, and explain to them what happened there. The beginning and the end of WW2. Amen!
