Thankfully
the Munchkin is small. We did not have much room to put this one in.
Thanks to HR for the tip on the Miximizer! Working great!

Nice Job there Mark.........
Was that thrmometer soldered in ?? How big wuz this unit and did you heat the whole house or just sections?? Tell us, we're waiting !!
Murph'0 -
Thanks Murph!
That thermometer is made by Pasco and only the well is soldered in. The thermometer itself can be removed.
That is a Munchkin 80mlp and it heats the whole place and the domestic water. There is a 26 gallon PhaseIII under the platform that the Munchie sits on.
There is also a zone of HWBB and a Buderus towel warmer for the second floor.
This is the 2nd radiant job that I have done for these folks.
We stopped by the other day to check in and the system had brought the home up to temp even with no sheetrock and insulation missing.
That Miximizer really does the job!!

Questions on Munchkin
Mark
Is this the "new generation" Munchkin? And if it is, have you been able to attend the training class for these yet?Bob "hot rod" Rohr
trainer for Caleffi NA
Living the hydronic dream0 -
My last Munchkin
install was a new generation unit with the new controls. I asked the local distributor when training would be availible and they told me in the Spring. Sheesh! Way to jump on a hot product guys,...not. Nice job Mark. I also want to hear more about the mixmiser. WW

Not the next generation
this is just a plain old Munchkin.
The classes for the new control should be here by the end of the month.
I can't wait!!

Miximiser
Thanks Scott and Wayne!
The Miximiser is a Grundfos pump with a variable speed injection control with outdoor reset all in one.
The pump comes with all of the sensors and it is completely servicable.
I would imagine that in systems with several different water temps, the Miximiser would be ideal.

Hi Bob!!
I explained the Miximiser below.
HR turned me on to the set up.
I wonder how many other things he knows about?

The Miximizer
is a fully weather responsive injection pump. Controls and sensors come prewired (except the outdoor sensor, which is included).
The product has several options that are set in the field - boiler protection, slab protection, and post purge. Set up is very simple.

Honeywell (Braukmann?) makes a nice thermometer, too. Steel case, choice of NPT or solder well in brass. About $20 ea if I remember correctly.
