Happiest day of my life.

On Monday, my beautiful 32 yr old daughter Marieke Celeste arrived from New Zealand. We had never met. I tracked her down on the internet.
My Mother and two sisters were already here from England, so Marieke met her father, grandmother, and two aunts for the first time.
Then today (Wednesday), just as my 5 1/2 yr old daughter Autumn showed up for Thanksgiving, a local NBC TV crew came by and filmed my two baby girls meeting & hugging for the first time. They are inseparable, and haven't left each others side for the last 11 hours.
The crew stayed for over 45 min's, interviewed my entire family and made a whole story out of the wonderful events. It will air locally tomorrow on our KPLC station.
Our reporter, one heck of a nice fella called Marty Briggs, asked why I felt it was important to tell the world about this. I didn't expect the question, but I knew exactly why I had searched for my daughter. If she had hurt as much as I had over the last 32 years, she deserved explanations, and reassurances that her natural father did in fact love her, and wished he could turn back time and do things differently.
As of 1.45 AM this Thanksgiving morning, in the beautiful stae of Louisiana, in my adopted USA, Marieke doesn't want things done differently. She is very happy with the way things are right now, this moment. At this time, my two girls are snuggled up and sleeping peacefully together as if they had known each other all their lives. They were always connected, now the connection is complete.
Some of the older Wallies know just how messed up I was during my divorce 4 yrs ago, and many of you gave me life-saving advice. There isn't any way I could ever sufficiently express my gratitude to you fella's (you know who you are).
A cloud has lifted off my life, and the life of my family this week, I'm a very happy man. I learned a lesson: Don't put off doing something about something that gnaws at your heart and soul. Don't put it off, do it now, not tomorrow, now.
I feared contact with my grown daughter because I thought she might hate me. She doesn't, she loves me and calls me Dad. I wasted all those years being crippled by fear. Fear is just a word, and doesn't deserve the time of day.
Thank you Dan for making this all possible, and all the gentleman fathers and gentle-womenfolk who make this site what it is (it's not all about heating).
Thank you Pete Caruso & Bill N. UNO Y
I'll post pic's of our family re-union as soon as I get them.
Hug your family right now, and tell them how much you love them.
Happy thanksgiving to all of you.
Brian, Autumn, Marieke, Nana Edith, Auntie Linda & Jacquie.
What a day, God bless you all.

You have been in my prayers
since we communicated about things at Area 51. A scripture that comes to mind that certainly covers your situation "perfect love casts out all fear". Your undying love for your family overcame your fear. Fear has torment but truth and love can set you free and give you peace. God Bless You brother and may you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving.0 -
Congratulations Dad!!
Enjoy your time together.

I'm just now calming down
after all the excitement. But still haven't eaten properly yet (stomach in knots).
My sisters made the whole "English Sunday Dinner" thing. Roast pork, roast spuds, mashed spuds, mountains of veggies, Yorkshire puddings & gravy. What a lucky man I am.
Thanks all you fella's for the prayers and good wishes.
The prayers very definitely worked. All is very, very well in the Wood home today.
Now will someone pray that I find a fuel pump for a 1986 Audi 5000 :O) It quit right in front of the airport terminal, we all had to bundle into my sister's pickup truck, and beg the Hertz folk not to tow it (they didn't).
I wish you all you fine folk a wonderful Thanksgiving.
All the best from the Pelican State.
Cheers, Brian & family.

Fly Continental.
A little follow-up.
Thank you guys for all the good wishes, this was the best thanksgiving I've ever had. I had forgetten what "happy" felt like.
I made sure we had plenty time to get to the airport...yes, take-off is 1.45pm, no problem. Except Mom & Sis' Linda were supposed to leave FRIDAY not Saturday!!!!!
The first continental agent would not help AT ALL with the tickets. We had to buy two new one-way tickets, over $1,000 each, devastation. My sister immediately got sick and had to rush to the bathroom.
I repectfully asked to talk with a manager. Get this. I explained the situation with finding my little girl and my Mom's Allzheimer's etc'. And her family was going through EXACTLY the same sort of reunion. They found a half-brother in Greece, and are getting together in the spring.
This incredible Continental Airlines manager called Pamela Kokonis, not only bumped Mom & Lin right past stand-by, she confirmed them all the way to Newcastle-on-Tyne, didn't charge for the ticket change, and got my Mom wheelchair assistance all the way home!! AND called our local airport to tell them to keep the check-in time to a minimum. Check-in took all of 35 seconds, stamp, stamp, done!!
I am sending a glowing letter about Pamela, to Continental, to make sure they know just what a wonderful person they have working for them.
Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes, fella's.
Have a wonderful Holliday.
Brian Marieke & Autumn.
