white water mold

I have a customer who says she has white water mold in her swimming pool. She was told it was caused by PVC piping in the system (PVC pipe,she figured I might know). The pool is indoors, no natural sunlight. She has tried the full run of usual pool chemicals. Anyone have any knowlege of this type of problem.
