honeywell thermostat

in THE MAIN WALL
I purchased a case of t-498 A 1778 line volt. thermostats not realizing they are for "electric heat". It is a nice looking stat & i would like to use them on oil heat systems to replace t-451 thermostats. Anyone know any reason why this would not work?
