Radiant/laminate floor/pad?

I have installed RTI plates and tubing under my subfloor already. Now it`s floor picking time. I`m Pretty much sold on the plastic laminate type flooring. Is there any concerns using this style as opposed to the engineered laminate type? The plastic laminate has what they tell me is a moisture resistant high density fiberboard core instead of the different layers of wood laminate like the other type. My real question/concern is the pad that they sell with it. It is a thin(maybe 1/8")dense sponge pad used to suppress noise.Salesman said it had an R value of .9 Anyway it also has an option of a thin layer which looked like foil used for a water barrier if anything leaks thru the floor seams.I can purchase it either way. Has anyone seen or used this stuff.See any reason I should not use this and find a different type(if there is one)??

Jim just make sure the person that did your heat load allowed for the extra .9 r value for the pad (you did have a heat load done didn't you?)and you will be ok I see lots of laminates, floating floors.0 -
Should be fine
with that thin layer. I imagine their is some fudge factor in your supply temperature if needed.
I did a job with Wilsonart laminates a few years ago. Definitly use the waterproof backer if you use this product in the bath areas. Kitchens floors would probably be wise also.
