What brand was it? If my memeory is correct lokk up Basch Aquastar that is what they had a couple of years ago. As for a tankless heater if you get the peoper heater it will heat your water just fine.

I was in the Home Depot the other night and saw a tankless hot water heater for sale. Its a square box that hangs from your wall or placed on top of bricks, according to the pic on the box.
Does it do a good job and can anyone recommend it? Or should I stay away from that all together? My home currently has a 50 gal gas HWH.0 -
Aquastar
I have been using the aquastar for 2 years with reasonable success though I do not realis the 90* temp rise that is specd for the unit. This is somewhat of an issue in the colder months when the watersupply is quite cold. You will get by with a shower OK, but to get warmish water to the laundry requires choking off most of the cold water supply. Occassionally the hot water will cut out in the middle of a shower. Probably due to a dust particle getting in the control. You do sense it coming though, and is remedied by turning on and off the hot water spigot a few times, and the hot water will work its way back to your showerhead before you turn purple. This does not happen often, but, it will happen, and it can take a week or so for the 'particle' to move on. All in all, a strong recommendation on effeciency and advertised long life. Just think how many waterheaters go into landfills each year, for me that is reason enough for this type of unit.0 -
No hot water in the middle of a shower?
This not a good situation. If my master was giving me a bath and the water went from hot to cold I'd be ticked off!
Something is wrong with the controls on that Aquastar. If it ever needs replacing, check out the Rinnai. I've had excellent results with them.

And, speaking of dinner I just noticed that Alpo is up to 99 cents a can...That's almost $7 in dog money!0
