Taco 007 Cartridge Circulator

It is a radiant floor heating system. It is a continous loop system. Originally the system was four 250 foot sections fed from one manifold that supplied the system. Now an additonal 480 feet of tubing the longest is 135' and the shortest is 115 feet has been added in series to the system on the second floor of the house. Currently the water is circulated from the basement up 15 feet to the second floor through 3/4" copper pipe. Then the cooler water is returned to the first floor through 3/4" pipe. The first floor is a shop area and I am not concerned if it is cooler then the rest of the house. I would like to keep this to one pump for simplicity.

Is a Taco 008 Circulator the same as a 007 with a different impeller assemblly. Looking at the dimension and the spec they look identical with the exception of the impeller. I have added a second story addition and have hooked up the water and need more flow. I have 15 feet of head pressure and the 007 pump is not rated to handle that. Might have to get the 009 but that seems like overkill. Can two circulation pumps be ran in the same loop? Maybe a second 007 upstairs?

    Is it really head?

Or are you talking elevation? The 007 will run out of push at 11ft of head but with pre purged lines and a closed, pressurized system elevation has no bearing on the circ's ability. The 008 will give you greater head but not significant increases in volume. Doubling up on the 7's or going to a 10 might be your best choices. Do the math and choose based on total head & required volumes. Enjoy....Dan

    Thanks Dan

I understand what you are saying. The system is closed, so I guess I would have to put on a pump that can handle the extra tubing. Looks like an additional 007 or one 0010 would be the best.

    The 0010

would probably be a good choice. It has a performance curve similar to that of the 3-piece Taco 110 or B&G 100.

What kind of system is this- fin-tube baseboard, cast-iron baseboard, radiators etc.?
