20 millameter pex

I am attempting a repair on a four year old snowmelt system. It appears the system was put in by a less than reputable person. I won't bore you with details except that there are many barb fittings with hose clamps and silicone as intrigal parts of the system. My problem though is the pipe size. 20mm. All of my suppliers just scatch thier heads and say good luck! I need to transition from this no name pipe to 5/8th standerd pex. It is installations like this that kill our reputations. Thanks for wall. Bing

    20mm PEX

Is 20mm the id or od?

If this was metric (european) pex, it should be marked with the manufacturers details at 1 metre intervals or less. Are there any markings visible? Can you be certain it is PEX?

The British Standard on PEX refers to a 20mm nominal od tube size in another standard, ISO 4065 about the wall thickness of thermoplastic pipes. I don't know if fittings are readily available for this.

    PS 20mm PEX

I've checked, 20 mm tube is used in the UK.

    See http://www.wirsbo.co.uk/pdf/potablewatersystems.pdf

    or http://www.ippec.co.uk

Wirsbo UK's system uses a crimp tool, probably a similar system is used in the US but with different pipe sizes?

    20mm

I have some old T/A 20mm x 3/4 fitting assemblies in my secret stash. They should work with one of our coupling nipples to convert you over the 5/8 pex. Give me a call to let me know how many you need and where to send them. 952-997-5334
