does anyone know if peerless or anyone makes a brush designed to clean between the nipples in a peerless boiler. the tips are very close together and I dont think they've gotten a proper cleaning in a long time.

plugged peerless
I'm not sure what model peerless boiler you want to clean - but almost every one that I have cleaned in the past (that were not properly cleaned before) required the use of my "soot saw" to clear the hard deposits between the sections that are way down in the bottom. Remove the flue pipe (and flue cover, if you have the time), and slide the saw between each section, all the way down to the blocked areas, and "saw" your way through this conglomeration of soot and condensed matter. Then you can go in with a (long thin) brush, from both the top flue cover and the front cleanout cover. Of coarse, be careful of the depth you go, in case there is a combustion chamber.
The soot saw looks like a bow saw blade, about 3 feet long, with big teeth and a handle. Plumbing houses carry them, or you could make one yourself, from a long strip of steel and cut the teeth out with tin snips. A point at the end helps get the saw started.0 -
