WWSD for system pump with constant circulation

If you are using a "power on only" floor manifold (i.e. Kitec unit, just install a remote bulb cap tube control with 120V wired to "open on rise" terminals set at whatever temp you want the unit to shut down.

How?
Is there a straighforward way to do warm weather shut down for the system pump in a VS injection system? The pump is on all the time during the season. The mixing control shuts the injection and boiler pumps down at the right outside temp. Do you just run your constant circ pumps year round?0 -
I think some controls
will shut the main loop circs down at the right outdoor temp, but I'm not sure which ones. Check w/tekmar and others for more info.
BTW- I had to look at your WWSD twice- at first I thought you meant "What Would Steamhead Do"! ;-)

Johnson Controls
(and I'm sure others) make a simple remote temperature switch with SPDT contacts and a contacts rated more than adequate for a circulator or two (or three).0 -
See the thread below titled...
Munchkin help needed and go to the "Now I got it" thread. If you are using a Tekmar control then it should turn off the pump on WWSD. I know the 361 does.
What kind of control do you have? Worst case add a simple on/off switch next to the pump and remember to turn it off in the summer and on in the winter.

I'm running into the same problem right now.
I have a system with 3 system pumps for secondary loops. I used to use a Tekmar 352 which has a WWSD setting of 65 degrees outdoor air. I bought a Tekmar 356 for it's variable speed capabilities but it has no WWSD feature. I looked through the catalogue last night and found the 365 has the features I want, (namely WWSD and indoor re-set) but boy what a price! I am either going to use a remote bulb t/stat to turn the system pumps on by outside temperaqture, ot I may use a room thermostat for cooling and heating the main floor, with O & B terminals so when the customer sets the thermostat for heat it will make a relay that turns on the circulators. I'm tempted to just put a switch downstairs and label it heat and tell the customer to turn it on when the heating season begins. (not really, but I'd do it in my house/ It's my Scottish nature.)

356 does have WWSD
Look in the tekmar D356 manual. I hope this helps.

Constant Circ Wiring
What is the preferred wiring method for constant circulation? Wire as normal to relay and jump tt; don't jump tt, but turn t'stat way up; direct wire circ with disconect switch? I'm thinking of P/S, VSI. Does it matter?

what I'm leaning toward is
"turn t'stat way up"
I have a programmable white-rodgers thermostat that I like. Grand plan is to connect it to an outdoor reset controller, set it way up during the day for constant circ with TRVs providing balancing and fine granularity on temp control.
At night the stat will set back (say to 62F). The TRVs should open wide and the system will revert to intermittent circ with the stat controlling things.

Use the boiler pump relay
I believe the boiler pump relay comes on whenever there is need for heating, just like when you need the system pumps. If load is heavy you may need an isolating relay.
