Blueray III Afterburn

I posted 'Blueray acting up' on 11-3. Blueray III is not a blue-flame boiler, & was made for Blueray by Thermodynamics. Advice led me to suspect inadequate ventilation [I had closed a vent off]. When I cleaned I found oil crystalized on nozzle, & spilled back past nozzle, & system sooted pretty badly. Afterburn was lasting about a minute. Now I have whiter flame, & a very minor afterglow.
Possible fuel pump acting up? Or just ventilation problem?
