Weil McLain and Home Depot

The business relationship between Home Depot and Weil has not been made official. In general if Home Depot does cut a deal, WM boilers will still OLNY be available through Licienced Trane Comfort Specialist dealers who have been hand selected for the sole purpose of selling systems through leads generated through Home Depot.

In essence, nothing has changed as far as competition except Home Depot will advertise their "Installed For You" services through their At Home Services. What's nice about the relationship for all Weil McLain installers will be the brand recognition.

Many WM competitors have put the word on the street Weil is selling Home Depot. This is false, just call go to Home Depot and try to purchase anything other than a SlantFinn boiler.

The long term effect of a possible joint venture is Home Depot will eventually eliminate many products like Slantfinn boilers from their shelves. This is a positive effect for the entire industry.
Burnham each your heart out!!!!!!!!!!!

    if

the actual installer/contractor is provided an opportunity to see, price, and sell the job then that is one thing. Otherwise, I can see only negatives coming from this venture. This is going to be an interesting post.

    Weil/Home Depot

The contractor gets the lead and treats it like any other lead he gets except he is representing a sale which Home Depot will generate a fee on if the contractor sells the job to the Home Depot consumer. If he does not sell the job then he pays no fee. The contractor cdesigns, recommendsa and installs a comfort system designed for the application and the consumers needs. Home Depot acts as a Lead Generator and provides financing and advertising for a small fee. The contracctor can promote his company and his talents during the installation and afterwards for service and maintence. After the installation the customer will still call the installer ffor service if they choose to do so.
