HW coil in a steam system - what controls?

We have an existing steam system , we are adding a hydronic coil in the duct for an addition. My question is how to control the boiler up to 180 degrees , bring on the circulator & air handler. I realize we will need an aquastat to control temperature within the loop , but how to bring on the boiler & air handler together.

Why not use a steam coil? If two pipe steam..
Could be on/off coil or run it wild and cycle fan?
I coil horizontal or vertical?
Do you have DX in AHU?

More info - Its a single pipe steam system in the existing basement , the addition is seperated from the basement by a crawl space - so piping is very difficult , hence the need for hot water. The hot water coil will be installed in the horizontial duct under the addition & piped via 3/4" copper back to a heat exchanger. My thoughts are to have a primary loop off the boiler below the water line , a secondary loop to the coil w/ a full size by -pass on the primary loop. Each loop will have a circulator. The secondary loop will have a air scoop w/ expansion tank. The coil is approx. 6' above the boiler & approx. 30' away.0
