We are putting in a Vitola. Can you run regular solid thermostat wire to the Reset stat or do you need stranded. All of the other expansion bus components use stranded wire.

do you mean to the outdoor sensor??? If so yes solid wire is not an issue we've used it for years no problems

Are you talking about the outdoor sensor? All we ever use is 18 gauge solid wire and it works fine.

Viessmann recommends the use of 18/3 shielded thermostat wire for both the outdoor sensor or RC thermostats. With many homes being "wired" with both cabling or alarm systems, stray RF signals have been found to interfere with the computer. The shielded wire costs a few cents more per foot, but will prevent any future glitches.
