Want to avoid a $180 replacement of transformer on this old unit (for now). One terminal is loose internally creating intermittent short. Looking for advice on its repair or direction to web-based source material on the heating unit in general.

Transformers.....
Are not repairable . For an less expensive repair , consider asking if your tech can get a hold of a "universal six-way" transformer and block the appropriate holes off for the time being . A Delco furnace is an old piece ! Save your pennies and do the right thing . I think the Smithsonian will be looking for that dinosaur for their collection soon ! Chris.0
