Can someone tell me approximately the last time American Standard made steam boilers.....mine is a small powerful sucker in a brown jacket. Any ideas? Just trying to determine how old she is and how long she has been steamin'

Model and serial number please.
There is a hydronics rating book that can be used for this request. Also, if you look on items like the gas valves and limit control(hot water)you can get an idea when they were made by reading a month/year date code. (Like 0768) This of course is assuming that they were original to the boiler. Boiler sections bear casting numbers. They are not easy to find, unless the boiler is in a pile waiting to be loaded off to the scrap yard. In the case of Amer.Std. you would not easily find someone to find out how to read them unless they are month/date and not encoded. C0 -
American Standard
Boiler Co. was purchased by Burnham Corp. back in the early 1970's. There were a few boilers that were carried over into the Burnham product line shortly afterwards. They would have has the name Burnham America on the jacket though. I would guess to say that yours is at least 30 years old if not a little more. Hope this helps.
