Skimming Steam Boilers (Wizaard)

I know Dan has a procedure deeescribed in The Lost Art... for skimming boilers. My question: Should one be able to skim a boiler one time, at the initial installation, and not have to go back to skim again?

skimming
not unless you have your sleeping bag with you that first initial time you skim it. You have to give it a chance to get everything back to the boiler. There is a reason why they say to let the return drain back to any thing but the boiler the first night. Not practical most of the time so you really have to get back and skim in a day or two at most. Then no problems.0 -
Boiler Skimming
How long after a new Boiler Install should you wait to skim ?0 -
On a new boiler
We skim while we are there , usually for a 1/2 hour while its hot , and also clean the return if we have some time . Then we add a mild cleaner , let it run through the system for a few days and send a serviceman back to skim the boiler and clean the returns again . Then at that time if it was sold , we change the main and radiator vents .0
