Munckin vs. Weil McLain GV6

Looking for help...

I'm trying to decide on which contractor and boiler to heat a new 3000 sq. home. One contractor wants to use a Munckin boiler for a hydo-air system, one recommends the GV6 boiler. The $ is about the same, but the quote with the munchkin boiler only includes 2 zones and 2 condensers. The other qoute includes 3 zones and 3 condensers. I'm trying to weigh the benefits of each boiler, and the relative costs of each system. I would really like an efficient, relaible system - without breaking the bank. Any help would be appreciated!

    If it's just hydro air

the munchkin will not be able to pay you back. You will need temperatures well above the 130 degree condensing range where the munchkin shines, to make hydro air work. If you run warm water through a hydro air system instead of hot, you may as well use a heat pump for the low temps and drafty feelings you'll get.

    My 2 cents....

You won't beat the GV for reliability..... the Munchie I'm taking a wait and see attitude...
I'll let someone else get the bug's worked out of them first.... I still have those nightmares
from those Hydro pulses that were to be the latest, greatest and most efficient......
Those people that had them would have liked to kill someone when they were told they had
a piece of crap and they had no recourse!!!
the Munchie may be different... but I'm not sure I want to put one in my customers house
and have to anwser for it .........yet.
