Frequently clogged pigtail

Any idea why the pigtail on my 15 year old Peerless steam boiler gets clogged every year?It is installed directly on the LWC (McD #67).
I keep the water clean without changing it too frequently.Last year I was told that the brass pigtail clogs easier and a steel or iron one was installed. It is clogged less than a year later. Thanks.

I think
since the LWCO is frequently flushed it is not the best place for the pig tail since turbulence in the flushing stirs up the muck you're flushing. I would make sure what's on the pig tail pressuretrol or gauge doesn't have any leaky threads to draw steam up and out. You can always move the pigtail up to another steam sensing outlet. Of course there are about a million pigtails on the 67's that don't clog so be sure you're not adding too much water from a leak and a cleaning and skimming is never wasted with a steam system.0
