yeah... but I don't know how you look either!
Smiles to you! If all DIYers were like you life would be better!

Did they all move towards the coasts?
deja vu
Just like my old gravity heating system I was quite willing to pay someone to do the job right, yet I could not find anyone here in Swampeast MO.
Called all I could find for a PROPER mud job for shower floor, i.e. dry, and tamped. ALL said they "pour" them. Drain off center and 20+ GPM flow is possible in this shower. KNEW that "poured" wouldn't cut it. Told them super quick (and profitable) job for you because I'll pay very well for something I'm reluctant/don't know how to do for myself. Everything will be ready including true level line around shower. You can do it at YOUR convenience 'cause I'm not on a schedule.
"Great, glad to do it, but we pour them."
DAMN! Did it myself and was quite surprised how easy it was--mix just a bit stiffer than corn bread--and pack away with the wooden float. Formula: 4 gallons (50#) DRY sand, 1 1/3 gallon Portland, 4 - 4 1/2 quarts water.
Only took a touch over 2 hours and had 1/4 bag of sand and 1/16 bag of Portland left over.
If you only do cement work occasionaly like me and always have your hands in it and find it eating even your calluses, try this: Camille Beckman hand cream (glycerine base). I sell it in my store--well-known to the ladies, easy to find in malls and not particularly expensive. After working with cement (and washing hands with soap/water) you use a big gob and you would swear that your hand was covered with pencil eraser "leavings." It's either removing the stuff left in the pores or neutralizing the alkali--maybe both--doesn't matter, it works. I also swear that you get fewer wood splinters when using it.
Some here get angry at DIYers. Sure, some are just trying to save a buck--haven't we all? Please try to remember that many who come here do so to learn something about their FINE, OLD SYSTEMS so that they can know "what to ask." Given the wonderful level of competence here, some simply find that they HAVE to DIY lest they get crap.0 -

DIY at the combustion end. And even if you do--HAVE YOUR WORK REVIEWED and STILL put yourself on a periodic review by the PEOPLE WHO SEE IT ALL THE TIME!!!!!0 -
20 guppies per minute???
What is this, a drive through car wash or a shower? Remember, contrary to popular beliefs, we ARE in a drought throughout most of the US.
Knowing you the way I do, I'm sure you have flow controls on the excess heads to restirct flow.
SOmething to think about.

Amen to that...from a \"DIY\" H.O.
I was a DIY for my system design and install (with tons of help and expertise to learn from)...Glenn did the final hook-ups and testing. He'll be here in two weeks for his annual "blessing". I swear my boiler purrs like a happy cat when he 's there.
I'm not as stupid as I look :-)
Take care, PJO0 -
Thanks Rich (nm)
