Primary Secondary sizing

is usually very small, we typically use a Taco 005 on small, medium and even large systems. It will handle 15 gpm at 4' of head which is 150,000 BTU's at a 20* delta T; that's a lot of heat.

As far as lifting the flow checks, if you pipe with closely spaced tees off your primary loop, the pressure differential created by the primary pump will not "see" any secondary piping.

    Primary Secondary pump sizing

What is the best way to size a primary pump. I am looking a the tekmar application #262-2 and I would like to know how to size the P1 pump. I have sized P1 for the total system load in the past and have used circs to zone with and what happend is the P1 pump winds up raising the zone flow checks. tekmar drawing is at. http://www.tekmarcontrols.com/acrobat/a262.pdf

    wrong drawing?

Unless I'm looking at the wrong drawing, 262-2 doesn't have any zone circs.
