Two questions for the experts
1. I am installing pex and then getting a mud floor poured. What is the best vapor barrier to use. Is it a 6 mil plastic or tar paper or ????
2. I am also installing pex on a second floor addition. Is it best to attach the pex to the joists with a heat shield as it would be hard to install underplywood floor as I have no access.
Thanks ALL

I'll address #1 question
You'll need to define "mud" a little clearer (pun intended). If you are working with a gypsum based product above a built up or sub floor then no slip sheet is your best installation. If you are working with a cementatious product under the same conditions your do want a slip sheet, normally of 6mil plastic, to prevent adhesion. The two product classes simply have different installation requirements. Enjoy....Dan

Radiant
Put the tubing on top of the floor.Climate panel/quick track only add 1/2" to your floor height.Putting aluminum plates to the sides of a joist will do nothing to help heat the floor.
