Hackney trucks
Looked at the Hackney web site and was impressed.
HACKNEYPLUMBING.COM/AC1000.HTM
Any idea of the price? Is it dual rears or singles?
I have been looking at the WORKHORSE trucks myself. These Hackney's look as good but $$$$ is all of it.

Service Trucks
I've not heard of the workhorse, but like the looks of the Hackney, I just wonder how costly it is and if I can mount it on a truck chassis or only on a cutaway. My reason is i have had problems with chevy transmissions, and ford front tire wear. I currently have 2 2000 Ford E-350 cutaways with
14 ft unicell bodies that i built the inside shelving and racks myself, 1 2000 E350 extended van that my brother is tired of crawling in & out of, 1 2000 E250 van that I am tired of crawling in & out of & 3 pickups that are getting tired. I have seen alot of jap service trucks popping up lately and can't help but woner why we as americans can't build a truck that can compete0 -
Check out
The Sprinter van from Daimler Chrysler. NO it's not a modified K-car. It's a service/utility van that Mercedes makes in Europe and imports here. I've been keeping tabs on a couple companies out here that have them and they are reporting phenomenal mileage with them. 18-20 mpg loaded and up to 22 out on the highway. Service intervals are every 10K miles. I have test driven one and found it to handle and ride very well. There's probably one out there with my name on it in the near future. I think the web address is www.daimlerchryslervans.com
BTW.... I was told that Fed-Ex just ordered 2,500 of them. That says something.
Another thing to look at is a shelving system made by a company called Bott. I think that's www.bott-usa.com or just do a google search

Service Trucks
Just who the heck makes these trucks? I thought it was Freightliner, looks like it would be a nice service van with the exception of standup headroom. Are they made in the good ole US of A ?0 -
Service Trucks
AH yes the Sprinter. Saw an ad in Plumbing Mech or Snips magazines. Called my nearby Dodge dealer and they said it would not be available until the spring. Are the ones you have been looking at the Sprinter or the Friegtliner?

Sprinter
Is made by Mercedes-Benz. Sold through heavy truck and industrial equipment dealers. (At least here in MI they are) They are available right now. I'm seeing more on the road all the time. Headroom is up to 6'3" with the raised roof model. Capacity is between your run of the mill standard vans and the Hackney service body type trucks. They look like quality from the ground up. But, hey, they're made by Mercedes. What do you expect.

Sprinter/Freightliner
I did a house for the national parts stocking manager for freightliner trucks and drove a Sprinter. It drives more like a car than a truck. Only has a 5 cylinder mercedes desiel engine. The test drive reminded me of test driving cars when I was a teenager, the sales guy kept telling me to step on it and see what it can do. Very impressive. U turns are no problem because it has a better turning radius than a pickup truck. Would like one or more but need to save some $ first. Quality cost a bit more up front0 -
Pipe rack
are those folding pipe racks or ladder brackets a Hackney part or aftermarket or custom built? Am wanting to put a set on my 14 ft. box0 -
