When you say PRV....
are you meaning pressure reducing valve, or pressure regulating valve, or pressure relief valve.
Thats the problem with alphabet soup. It tastes differently to different people. In your case, I'd advise setting the pump so it pumps away from the expansion tank AND the boiler if at all possible.

Sorry. The Prv is the pressure reducing valve. The customer will not move the pumps - 3inch welded piping.0 -
Can you
provide us with a simple one line schematic? It helps clarify things.
It sounds as if you need a pressure assisted bypass. Kinda like a pressure relief valve except that it doesn't let water out of the system like a pressure relief valve does.
Use MicroSoft Paint program to generate a drawing. Here's some symbols you can use if you want.

PRV
Honeywell Braukman makes PRV's to bypass flow around from the discharge to the suction of the pump, usually used when single port zone valves close off.0 -
Here's the schematic. Sorry for the primitive drawing. By the way Mark, what do you use to draw schematics like the one you sent me.0 -
Here's the schematic.0
