    adds to value

    cheese,

The radiant mentioned in the article equates to 14.28 sq ft on 7000sq ft (retail value). Quote "adds to value"

What do you think the builder cost was? approx.

Being retired, I am going the other way 3500 to 1300

    Hmmmmm...

The non "McMansion" house is only 4,500 sq. ft. - I thought my house was huge at 3,500...and I've got three kids (not one). I also avoided that scene in our little neighborhood because there where 7 builders of fifteen homes...although I think a few of them look "McMansiony"...on 1.5 to 2.5 acres each with fifteen acres of "undeveloped" (I call them woods) land and a pond.

As far as radiant increasing the value, when my house was assessed they added a few thousand in value for my heating system. Although it wasn't what I spent on it, between the comfort and efficiency it's the best!
