ITT/Automag problem

A three zone hot water system using Automag DC solenoid valves...developed this problem after a lightning storm: Relay in Aquastat being called by zone terminal board, with NO call from t-stats. It appears the diodes for the valve solenoids, only block AC to the valves. But ANY zone should call the circulator/boiler. Anybody got a schematic for the diodes? I understand why they do DC( to remove AC hum), and that the valves, when energized, are closed. They drop out to open. NOBODY around here has a clue about Automag. Can someone help. Thanks, Robert

Hi Rob, Try giving Automag a call at 1 800 451 2002 ask for Jim Specht or Ed.One of them should be able to answer your question.

Automags
are so simple they appear complex. Are the stats original 3 wire or 2 wire with a relay? You can easily test the diode if it doesn't look trashed by the lighting, should pass ohm check in one direction only. I wonder, did you isolate each stat one at a time? I think you might have a bad stat.0
