  • Give us a hint (Brian)

    Dan.

My machine won't cutnpaste (or I can't) and when I type it all in, it doesn't work.

Which article is it, on what date.

    TIA.

Brian (out of the swamp) Wood.

P.S. Pray that hurricane Lilly stays away from here.
At this time, it is headed directly for Cameron & Calcasieu parishes, that's where I am.

Out of plywood, generators and bottled water. Oh well.

    Lookie at Airplanes!

I went to Australia this past summer. 14 hours in a 747. That has done it for me. I like to go, but from now on I'll take a car, train or walk but not another ride in a 747! The big box outfits are all related. Bigger is better! The American way. There is and always be a place for the compact decent contractor who is willing to provide personal service. A major gas disruption could be in the works, That is has not happened my be as big a fluke as if it did, Then the little oil company will still have his trucks filling up small owners tanks. A good multitank storage of oil coupled with an efficient boiler, and a diesel generator set could keep you warm and happy if the ship hits the sand anywhere in the world. Yes gas can be kept in storage. how about the outfit providing free tanks and generator sets for that scene! Everything has its place in the world. and oil fired heating is no exception. Given time this mess shall shake down to its stable point. imho bigugh
  • Thanks Joannie & Dan.

GSU/Entergy did the very same thing a few years ago, here in SWLA.

AO Smith sold a lot of "free" electric water heaters to the utility/gas customers. Then the higher electric bills came in, folk ran out of hot water all the time, and I got a lot of calls from those same cust's asking about installing gas or electric tankless water heaters.

In this instance, what went around, came around.

    Let's see..........

Do you think the public let these guys in their homes unattended? My clients trust me explicitly.

Do you think the public cares about quality workmanship? My clients do.

Do you think the public wants the work area cleaner than it was before the contractor arrived? My clients do.

Do you think the public cares if the contractor knows everything he needs to? My clients do and expect it.

Do you think the public cares about SYSTEM efficiencies? My clients do.

Do you think the public wants everything dirt cheap? My clients DON'T.

I do what I do and try to make my own market. My clients appeciate my efforts. It's a tough road, but.............

    Warm Regards,

There was an error rendering this rich post.

  • I agree with you totally

and virtually 100% of my customers are from referrals and word-of-mouth.

It all comes around, the good AND the bad.

As the gentleman two posts up said, in a round-about-sort-of-way, there will always be a place for the little guy "craftsman" (didn't Sears butcher that word) who takes his profession and his client's seriously.

It's Miller time. Now to spend some time on www.energysaviours.com I haven't figured out the Lanesystems "SiteGen" web building language yet, but when I do, she'll be up & running. It will be all about energy saving/conserving products and services. As well as news, tips and links to my favourite sites "wink with me wallies".

It's a work in progress, don't give me grief, fellas.

    Did I say "Coors time".

Must get ready for hurricane Lilly.

    Later y'all.

    Brian.
