condensate return under concrete

I have a leaking condensate return under the concrete floor. I thought in would be best to replace it with sch 40 stainless steel but i have never seen it done. Is there any reason why i should not do this? This is a low preasure vapor system.

how long did the original last?
How long do you expect the system to last? How much more money than just replacing with what's there? Is it worth it to you?
I don't think it's much deeper than that. Cost would be the primary factor, I think.
