but the Vapor system was still banging and slow to heat. We invaded the crawlspace, put on decent-sized main vents (Gorton #2 again) and realigned the returns that drip the steam mains. That took some doing because of the spaghetti-like tangle of flex A/C ducts.

This system isn't entirely Hoffman. The rad shutoffs were made by Syracuse Valve Co. of Syracuse, NY. Coincidentally (or not?) the rads are Pierce, Butler & Pierce plain column, which were also made in Syracuse (camera batteries quit so I don't have these pics). The system was installed during a 1927 remodeling.

on the banks of the Tred Avon River. The section on the right is the oldest portion, the middle and left sections are newer. The middle was originally a single story.

This is one of the most peaceful places I have ever visited.
