Noise Problems Cyclone Water Heaters

Have any of you made the mistake of using AO Smith's Cyclone Water Heaters? One of our clients just fired up their Cyclone, and called to report that they thought a helicopter was landing in the back yard by the flue!

These things are a disaster! We have been trying them out; one was so loud that AO Smith (to their credit) replaced it with another heater at their cost. At least half of the ones we have sold have to be removed! We have had a lot of problems with HTP Voyagers as well. The Munchkin has promise, but all the other brands of high tech, high efficiency heaters have had major problems.

So anyone got a solution on how to quiet a Cyclone, other than to install it in a neighbors basement in the next block?
