45 year old sectional steam boiler

I am looking at a 45 year old atmospheric 10 section cast iron steam boiler (Weil McClain).
Looks like it is in OK condition. It does not look like there is much or any water loss. Maintenance has been minimal.
Can I expect the boiler to last much longer??

    Boilers last for decades

if properly maintained. But something that old is probably about 60% efficient (AFUE) if that. I'd consider replacing it on that basis- a new steam boiler will have an AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency) of 80-84%. With constantly rising fuel prices this makes sense.

But since it's in such good shape, you should be able to replace it at your convenience rather than when it gives out.

You may also consider upgrading the air vents (ESPECIALLY the ones on the steam main) which will allow the steam to distribute faster and reduce the boiler burner's running time. Most steam systems I've seen are not vented properly, and this wastes lots of fuel.
