direct venting

I am looking at a job to convert an electric water heater to gas. The customer wants to go with either a direct vent or power vent water heater. My problem is the location of the vent through the outside wall. It will be under an overhang (the house is a split level). Approx. 10 feet above the overhang are two windows, about 5 feet apart. The vent would line up pretty close to the center line of the windows. My question is, would this allow the exhaust to disperse enough by the time it got to the window area? This is the only area that the vent can go through the outside wall. I also am wondering what you guys would prefer for this application- either direct vent or power vent. Putting in an outlet for the power vent is not a problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
