Do any other Contractors attend these trade shows and find that alot of the vendors are looking at your ID badges
and when they see you are a contractor they just turn away and ignoring us . I spend alot of money to go to the trade shows to learn what I can and stay ahead of the compitition but I always come away feeling frustrated . I went once with a good friend of mine who is a engineer who specializes in new hospital construction . You would not beleave how the vendors sucked up to him . I got more free stuff just for being with him it was sickning and not just the cheap little samples the give out . Like real tools and lots of supplies .

    Try

removing your name tag after you get in the door. Keep it in your pocket for scanning info. This really confusing the booth operators.

Make a list of the companies you really want to see. Try to see these after the initial "floodgate rush"

Sometimes you have to extract the info you really want. Some booth operators should take a course in trade show manners. The ones that sit behind their tables without a smile or acknowledgement have probably caused their company to loose more customers than they came to the show with.

A hidden video camera sure would be a fun exercise :)

    looking for temporary roommate

I'm looking for anyone in lower NY State (Jersey,Conn, W.Mass) to share expenses (room, driving, trouble) to go to ISH. Would prefer a non-smoking female with first class conversational skills but will settle for humorous tech head with a slammin' cruisemobile.

    You've got to be kidding

We won't be displaying at ISH this time , although my partner Mr. Bean will be doing a seminar.

We view the contractors as our bread and butter. These shows represent a great opportunity for us to meet the contactors one on one , and we love it. If your suppliers are not interested in seeing you, perhaps you're dealing with the wrong suppliers.

    ISH-NA

I have been to a lot of trade shows in Toronto and have never been disapointed by my treatment from the vendors I went to see.

    system overload

The seminars run at the same time as the Expo .you have to choose seminar or walk the exhibits the cost of attending if more then driving range from home base is too high and makes it a frustrating experience When you have to do either or and can't partake the full seminar / expo experience. The cost of the ISH NA housing is too high even in american dollars & some of the headquaters hotels offering lower rates on the net. Is ISH NA Tacking on a percentage? These things affect my attitude problem
