Does anyone know how much water a munchkin 80,000 hold?
Does the water pressure switch on the munchkin serve as a low water cut-off? All the piping on a proposed installation we're working on is below the boiler. Thanks for your help.

Munchkin
Don't have a spec sheet handy but would guess 1-1.5 gallons.
The pressure switch could serve as a low-water cut-off however it is not recognized as such in my state.0 -
2 Quarts in the 80M Munchkin, 3.7 in the 140M & 4.5 in the 199M0 -

I have 9 MUNCHKINS in operation with another 4 to put in
in December. I have decided I will include a buffer tank in
every Mun instaqllation. The small amount of water that is
held internaly in the boiler and considering the high output
does not leave much for a margin of error, or for varying heat loads. From the sounds of your installation I would consider mounting at least a 6 gallon electric water heater
above and to the side of the Munch (just as an insulated
buffer tank, no elect connected) and include a GuardDog probe type low water cut off installed in the piping above the boiler. Small amount of effort for a premium system.

has a tank to go with the Munchkin for a buffer I believe. Maybe a blank (no coil)20 gallon stainless with larger tappings. Is this close Munchkin man?

is correct as dave from monroe states and we have a SSU20B
this is our buffer tank has 4 - 1 1/2" ports a 1/2" port at the top of the unit for temp press gauge and is packaged with an aquastat well so you can thread it into a 1/2" npt port on the side of the tank and install an aquastat.
