Preventing an oil leak

Just curious as to what is the preferred method on avoiding an oil leak whan the tank is located above the burner. OSV valve or a check valve. I am correct in assuming that in the event the pumps' seal blow or the gasket leaks, the oil will continue to leak, right? Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks

oil leaks
in mass we use osv it protects the pump seal and also will cot off oil flow if pump seal lets go0 -
Oil Leak (anti-siphoning valve)
If the tank is outside & above I use anti-siphoning valve.
This will protect from bad pump seal, oil line break, filter, all fittings, and mostly YOU! OSV valve needs to be as close to tank supply and not to weather,so if you install it inside building this will leave from tank to valve unprotected, which is where leak will happen!if you know what I mean. Most supply houses don't carry these but they are easy to find. Hope this helps!0
