Hot Rod-Check for Virus

While I don't entirely understand it, the Klez virus has the ability to appear as though a message is originating from the computer of someone else. I receive these constantly from "familiar" addresses. They usually have an odd subject line though. It is likely that HR's computer does not have a virus residing on it.

But....don't open any uninvited attachments....

Hot Rod, scan your computer...it sent me a .Klez worm this AM. I've been getting one a day for about 6 days. Fortunately, the virus software isolates it and warns.

If the e-mail showed that it was from Hot Rod it most likely came from somebody other than Hot Rod. This virus gets into the infected computer's address book and sends out e-mail using the address found as both send and receive. I have even gotten infected mail from myself.

I'll run a check. I have the supposedly latest and greatest protection. Also I do not have you name or address in my address file. Sorry for the hassle.

No hassle...

I get virus' regularly and have not had any problems using Symantec's program, updated weekly for new virus definitions.
