  • You didn't

say cheap so I'll tell you we use a "Dry Cut" chop saw; they quickly cut almost any material without leaving a burr. We have one made by Porter-Cable (model 1410); DeWalt makes a quality one as well.

Also on the \"not cheap\" track...

When Mr Milne bought the new threader , the rep from REMS put a flyer in about a new(?) threaded rod cutter .(see "electric threader" thread)
Maybe he's got an email address you can get ahold of . Chris.

    I tried the REMS

all thread cutter at the ISH show. If you cut a lot of rod this is a must have. I could even cut 1 inch long pieces in half! It left the threads in perfect condition. Very portable and doesn't require a plug or extension cord :) You could use this tool up on a scaffold even.

    thread rod

you can use a sawzall to cut rod. put two nails near end of 2x4 to hold rod tightly, or vise or foot. If you get any threads bruised use a thread file or thread chaser to fix. I find that holding the rod tight as close to cut as can gives good cut even with hack saw.
