Hello fellow radiant and hot water question and answer people! I have a sales person from one of my wholesale houses wanting me to put a Monitor high efficednt boiler system in a new home I am just getting started on, I have never used a Monitor system befor(have seen them in shows and at Wirsbo, but never installed), I have infloor(under concrete), staple down in the bathrooms and quick track in the kitchen and family room, this is a larger home. The boiler will be mounted on a center wall in basement with a new style vent system to be able to vent up a 2 story home? I am looking for input on this boiler in this application(I would use a Munchkin on a normal basis in this situation, but am looking a the Monitor) any input would be appreciated.

    I have ...

never used one yet but I hear they are quite nice. Near zero defect rate. I'm sure you will get more input from others. kpc

    A Cadillac

of a system; we've installed 6 of the MZ 25C's; very few call-backs; actually 2. One was for a bad hight limit and the other was a leaking auto air vent. Other that that - nada; and that's not bad for 6 installs.

You won't be able to use a B-vent though (acidic condensate) and there's a maximum distance for the balanced flue since it's power vented and the fan can only push so far. Better to find a room with an outside wall.

Drawbacks? There's a bit of a learning curve and the instructions are terrible.

    Best wishes,

    Alan
