    rain dance

ME, send some of that our way. We're hovering (no, not that kind!) on the brink of water rationing here. In order to recover from this drought, we need a little over 30" of slow and steady rain. A sudden downpour might look and feel great, but is of little long term value. We're not expected to recover in the NE this year and may well take several years to return to normal if rainfall cooperates.

Meanwhile, in the Fertile Crescent, several countries are poised at the brink of war because upstream countries are depleting the rivers before they can even reach the border of their neighbor. The allocations for drawing water are 150% greater than the rivers hold - DOH!

Take a hard look at our own Colorado River and the allocations of five thirsty states whose straws are sucking her dry. They based the allocations on best case rainfall years - DOH!

Over 1 billion people went without a reliable source of potable water today in our world.

Our plumbing codes drastically need revised to accomodate gray water recycling.
