    1st. Buderus boiler

Hello all, I am installing my 1st. Buderus boiler. It is going to be a G215/5 with basic Honeywell control(owner didn't want to spend the extra money on outdoor reset control). It's 2 zones, 1 cast iron for 1-3 Fls. and 1 baseboard zone in basement. I know there is a first for eveything so my intentions are to read the instructions over the weekend before I begin my project sometime next week. I have come to respect many of you and the opinions you have. So I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice you think I could use.

Thanks for all the knowledge I am letting enter my little brain :) Ant

Thanks Mike for the reply. It is oil fired, and I am using the Riello Burner. Have done my share of knock down boilers just haven't had the experience with Buderus yet. Now the tappings, This is exactly what I was looking for someone to tell me about. Do i just use teflon tape and dope(ie:Megalock) and that should do the trick or do you have a better suggestion. Well Thanks for the reply Cheese, I really appreciate it.

    Doping Buderus Boilers...

I've found that triple doping works best. Start with a light coating of Megaloc, then 5 to 6 wraps of teflon tape, then another coat of Megaloc and your ready to go.

Their DHW tanks come with a real thick teflon (pink) tape and a real aggressive blue pipe dope paste that smells like rocket fuel. Don't smoke around this stuff when you're putting it together.

Pay close attension to the burner manufacturers installation and set up instructions and set it up exactly as they tell you to and you'll be fine. Welcome to the world of fine German engineering. You'll love it.

The package for trimming out the boiler includes 2 rolls of 1" red teflon tape and a small tube of Rectorseal Tru-Blue.The instructions ask the installer(thats us :) )to give the nips three wraps and paste the inside of the fittings/and block.Thats what I do.And have been succesful.

The Viessmann pumpkins come with hemp.......awesome deal dude.Only it aint got no value other then keeping the water in the pipes:)

    Question?

I was told by a few people that with a Riello f/10 burner that it is not necessary to install a damper. Is this true?
are there any advatages or disadvatages? Would like to know the real truth.
