Tile over radiant

My friend wants to have radiant under his new tile floor. We are concerned about how much height this will add to the finished floor. This will be for floor warming not necessarily the only heat source. There is existing baseboard that will be left in place. What is the best way to have the least height gain. The tile guy wants to use mesh under the tile but I don't want any adverse reactions to the pex or for the tile to pop(you know who's fault it would be). I had suggested staple up but he'd have to remove sheetrock and insulation. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Todd

You could always
look at the electic cable or mats if it is a small area. Most will install with thinset and 1/4" notched trowel. All though not a true wet head system, small area electric may be an option
