water heater/baseboard heat

bronze pump for the domestic side, potable expansion tank, check valve also on domestic. We also use a thermostatic tempering valve on the domestic out so that we can run the WH up to highr temps.

On the heat side of the HX, a circulator, expansion tank, air eliminator, pressure reducing valve, pressure relief valve. The usual suspects.

I would not recommend an open system. That water that sits in the baseboard in the summer will grow NASTY things that can hurt our nice customers!!

I was going to post a pic butI don't have it anymore!!

I'm sure someone will be along with one!!

Hope this helps!

    Check

the max. temperature output on that Rinnai. You may not be able to run above 140 degrees. Check your baseboard output at that temperature. You will have some temperature drop through the HX also, if you go that route.

Doesn't sound like a great application. Also check the pressure drop through the Rinnai!
