    Iron Fireman

made a system called SelecTemp. The steam also ran the fans inside the heaters. Turbonics bought the whole works and now supplies parts (or at least they used to).
    Retired and loving it.

can I mix with cast iron rads?

I thought Grainger still carried a couple.

My question is, can I mixed one in with the rest of my cast iron rads and expect to do okay? I seem to recall some issue about that but never got it straight as to why I wouldn't want to.

Mixing copper with cast iron radiation

It is usually bad practice to mix cast iron radiation with copper as the cast iron absorbs much more heat than the copper and thus gives it off while in the next room the copper radiation is cold, this ruins the balance between the rooms and depending upon the thermostat location results in either a cold copper radiator(room) or a hot cast iron room. If you can use two thhermostats by taking a hot water loop off the boiler, you will get better comfort.

    steam + kick space heater?

    Thanks Roger.

The room I'd use it is a kitchen and with all the extraneous heat sources, never quite syncs up with the rest of the house anyway. I was thinking I'd add a second t-stat just for this rad (or actually it's blower).

Oh and it's a 2 pipe steam system. Any issues with that?
