Love to find out where you get the diamond plate for your boards. I have looked everywhere but cannot seem to find any.

How far do you guys go?
I wrestle with this on every project. Having solder joints not perfect or having a pipe not exactly plumb and level drives me nuts! The craftsmanship is one of the things that separates us from the other guys (I feel). We all strive for perfection, but where do you draw the line? Will you re-do something because it doesn't look good enough, but works fine? Or, am I just a complete nut job who worries too much? Although, when a homeowner's draw drops upon seeing the work, it feels pretty good.
Help?
Warm Regards,
hb

But I too have drained, heated, banged with a hammer, straightened, cleaned, filled and purged again. And you know what we're usually the only ones to notice.Sleep well tonight my freind for your work shines like a diamond:)

I've actually
removed other peoples work that sits next to mine and done it right so it doesn't mess up the picture of my stuff. Anal, maybe. A craftsman is proud of his work. You are the epitomy of fine craftsmanship.
Thank you for raising the bar for everyone.

I think you should redo that pipe, it is about 1/64th out of plumb!
just kidding! I wouldn't touch it, couldn't see anything wrong, or out of plumb in that picture, or any of your others for that matter!
take care
Chris

Speaking of details..........
Viessmann really does a great job of details with all of their equipment I have used so far. Everything right down to strain reliefs for all of the sensor wiring is pretty well thought out. This Chassis Burner came right out of the box @12.7% CO2, 89%AFUE and the whole thing takes an Allen key(supplied) to remove or adjust any part on the burner. Like I said, details.

You need to start worrying
when you DON'T feel the way you do.
You know, when I was 14 (& 5'2") I could high jump over 6ft, and pole vault about 14ft. I didn't know the bar was NEVER going to stay where it was, and that if you kept at the same level, you were actually going backwards.
None of what we ever do will be perfect, it doesn't exist.
BUT, I'm 53 now, and you just did that %@*&^/" thing with the bar again, and my knees hurt.
Great heat-art Jeffrey. Another one for the scrapbook.

Looks like that Viessmann filter has a Tiger Loop built right in. Did it come from Viessmann or another vender?
Thanks
Steve

RE:Tiger loop
Steve I believe that is made by Oventrop and it is standard issue with Viessmann oil fired boilers.

Filter
The filters we've used have been just filters. Look at the picture, never seen that from Viessmann.

I know that feeling!! To top that...have you ever repiped something that was level and straight, but just not asthetically pleaasing to your eyes? I find myself doing that occasionally. Looking at your work is ALWAYS pleasing to me Heatboy!

I was once told..
by a very thoughtful college instuctor, that if you don't know what the best is, how can you ever do any better than mediocrity (spelling?). Start with the best, and if it is necessary due to restraints, beginning cutting where necessary. If you know what the best is, you will also know where the cuts can be made that have the least effect. I think the occasional crooked pipe is allowable on most jobs....but I've been there too!

Your right........that does look to be a Tiger Loop. The Biferrals came with the Oventrop filter.I stand corrected yet again! With the Roth tanks you avoid the need of the return line by using the tiger loop.If you click on the attached "Roth Tanks" from heatboys second post in this thread you will see.

a perfectionnist
cannot draw the line. I will straighten not to be perfect but because it is right. Perfectionist very seldom get things done. People who do things right get lots done. I am not a perfectionist but I do have a list that would fill a book written by Dan.
Thank you for raising the bar.
