    Erratic shutoff

Is the end switch on the zone valve operating the circ? If so, the end switch may be loose and/or bad.

What kind of Zone Valves? Is the end switch bringing in a relay which then brings on the circulator? What is the model and make of relay.

Suggestion if you can catch this happening, disconnect the wire from the end switch on zone valve if it fails to run then your problem is the zone valve. If it still keeps doing the same thing then I would suspect the relay.

The last thing to check is to make sure you do not have a Taco or similar Power Port Card such as a PC610 Universal Timer/Pump Exercise Plug In Card. If so it could be malfunctioning.

    I'll wager..........

it has the infamous Taco 3 wire zone valves. If so, there is your issue. Check each powerhead operation and you will find the one that is short cycling. The power head can shortcycle on both start and finish, but primarily on shut down.
