a steam boiler with a steam-to-water heat exchanger that then heats a building with hot water? Are you asking for a comparison between that water system and a direct steam heating system?Retired and loving it.0 -

Unless there's a static-pressure challenge
such as you'd have in a high-rise building, I see no advantage in using a steam boiler and a converter. I'd just use a straight hot water boiler and avoid the extra equipment.Retired and loving it.0 -
