Seeing that it was your first one we'll let it go this time, but next time I want that pig-tail turned 90°. I know it is not a mercury switch but it is a good habit

    gas flue

Could be the picture , but that gas flue looks like its running fairly level you might want to go back and adjust it so it pitches up to the chimney from the water heater

Gary, that steam job looks great

but you really do have to watch those pigtails when using mercury-switch Vaporstats and Pressuretrols. If they flex the wrong way they will affect the switch action.

Otherwise- nice job! Watch out, Mad Dog- you've got some serious competition now! ;-)

    pigtails

thanks guys for the kind words and so nice to be able to help me with making the installation of a steam boiler just right, you mention regards to the direction of the pig tail,do you mean turning it a quarter turn so that in affect cannot see the loop,is the main purpose of the pigtail is it to stop steam flashing up into the pressuretrol, started to wire up steam boilers has anyone got a wiring diagram a simple one please showing an auto feeder ,lwco, manual feeder, aquastat etc please so i can draw it our keep it in my truck, thanks so so much guys for all the help with this, and i know i can come here and get help from you guys.

    take care my freinds

  • Gary, pigtails move

They uncoil a little when they get hot. Since the mercury bulb needs a level reference that doesn't move, the pigtail should be at right angles to the mercury bulb travel direction.

    ....like they already said.

Nice job, buddy. How do the kids like school, here?
