Sniper in DC

I'm sure a lot of you have seen on the news about the sniper who has been shooting prople in and around the DC area. It is really affecting our normally routine lives. 1 of my students in my night school classes said he arrived on the scene of the 2nd shooting a mere 30 seconds after it happened at a gas station where he went to gas up. Another one said he was related to one of the victims. The schools are under lock down which means indoor recess. Parents must drive their kids to school and walk them in and turn them over to security. The soccer team I coach has had to miss practice because it was held at a school and they won't allow any activities on the grounds. I must admit to being a little nervous at one job because the customer took a long time answering the door and I felt exposed standing at the front door, a sitting target for this madman. When I heard he had shot a 13 year old boy I felt like crying. We are being terrorized by a mad man who has no regard for anything sacred. The only thing to do is try to live as normally as possible until he makes a mistake and is caught, and to try and stay out of public places where he might be setting up. Where will it all end?

Thanks
for the replies guys. I know this has nothing to do with heating so may I suggest inventing a butt flange so we can pipe some high pressure steam to this guy when we catch him.0 -
Doubt that would do any good
He's a crack shot shooting randomly into open places from long distance.
Let's hope it turns out to be "just" a lunatic--not an Arab lunatic...0 -
I've been thinking
more and more about the possiblility of this being Al Queda(?). This guy or guys are too smart about everything. Too Calculating to be, as you say, "just a nut"0 -
Catch that bast...
Makes no sense. It sure has created havoc in our area.
Traffic was already a nightmare. Twice this week it took three hours where it normally takes one hour.
Wednesday night's shooting was around the corner from a customer of mine. I've gotten gas there.
Thank god we are rained out for this Saturday's soccer. I don't think we would have had any kids, including my son.
Imagine them looking for a white van with ladder racks in the D.C. area. There something not very common.
Hang in there Wayne.0 -
Very Scary
Canadian perspective...
You guys have been through a lot.
But your system, from here, is pure.
I have thoughts of how to deal with these people when they are caught. You will give them fair representation. And so do we. Sucks sometimes, but we need rules, fairness and honor to run this crazy place(s).
It's terrible that those kids have to be locked down in their schools...and homes. That's what it is. Maybe that means more parent involvement. Duh? Certainly more parent involvement may have interveined with these wackos. A little more could not have hurt.
Every Friday, healthy or sick, I take my 14 year old daughter for breakfast. We talk silly, then I drive her to school. One day in 5 is not enough. But that's my starting point. If every dad and mom started there we wouldn't have half this crap.
It begins and ends at home.
I hope they get this guy very soon!0 -
Thanks
for the wake up call. As I read your message I heard my 12 yr old son bumping around upstairs. I went and grabbed him and took him out to breakfast. Why do we let ourselves get so busy that we forget what's important. I also filled my wifes car up with gas. Don't want her at the gas station, that's the snipers favorite set up local. My helper got pulled over and checked yesterday because he was driving our white van with a ladder rack. No problem, as a matter of fact I'm glad they are being so thorough.0 -
Wayco Wayne The sniper.
Don't believe this guy is an Islamic terrorist. He is cold , cunning, methodical, and probably well trained as a shooter, weapons expert, and covert operations. This guy covers a lot of area and seems to be familiar with the territory. He has to be a local; knows how to make a quick escape. I think the cops are overlooking the obvious and missing the simple clues. Just like in our business, ignore the basic solutions; look for a complex answer; and the basics come back to bite you! I sincerely feel for you people. We don't need all this crap in our lives. Life is hard enough; why can't we all just get along? We should not have to go to war with the Arabic World. They have oil and we have cash. It is our technology and finances that have put them in the position that they are in now. They love the greenbacks, but hate our way of life. Go figure! I have three children who are eligible for the next conflict. God Bless you people who have to deal with this mess. Hope they catch him very soon! Our prayers are with you!0
